Hey, in case you wonder what Dubois is up to:  this week we locked ourelf in to produce a dozen tracks for the new album. We fixed a few new sounds together and gave our foreign friends Daniel and Chris the opportunity to catch up with a bunch of enchanting Rotterdam vibes. Feeling pretty “bien cuit” after spending three days in a packed rehearsal room, we’re certain of some satisfying results, ready to enter the studio in October!.

On Friday July 2nd Monsieur Dubois will kick of the start of the Tour de France 2010. As part of the North Sea Round Town festival, one stage will be specially designed for this event: Zuiderpark People Village Grand Départ! You can easily find it next to the Ahoy square (where North Sea Jazz is). Dubois will perform there at 18h00 and give a 1,5 hour set.

Coming up this Thursday a packed program at Jazzpodium Rotterdam in Watt: A double bill with Monsieur Dubois and The Jazzinvaders rapped up with latest London breaks by DJ Pat (best known for his notorious Bar P sessions). All this for only 8 euro or even 6 when you’re a student. They even will be filming the shows, I mean, better dress nice!

The latest issue of Jazz Thing has some generous German words on the “What’s Nu?” album by the Dutch Nu-Jazz Movement. More so, according to journalist Henrik Drüner, Monsieur Dubois holds the best cards:

Tomorrow at Paradiso we will have the great pleasure to play with two old friends again. Apart from friends they’re simply amazing musicians! From Cologne Christian Fehre (percussion) and from Vienna Daniel Nösig on trumpet!
