DUBOIS IN SOUTH AMERICA

After touring around in Europe for more than a decade it’s time to expand horizons: Monsieur Dubois will visit South America and give three concerts in Chile end of November. On the list are the Puerto Montt Jazz Festival, the GAM in Santiago (Chiles most famous cultural centre) and the Fournil Jazz Club (Santiago).

We are very much looking forward to these concerts and meet the Chilean audience!

You can now listen to a short preview of the upcoming Monsieur Dubois album. The images were taken from recently discovered footage, shot by Monsieur Dubois himself. You can clearly see his main interests: birds, its predator, cars, more birds. Obviously Dubois was not a genious with the camera, therefor we apologize for the poor quality of the video.

Mixing @ Studio 150

Monsieur Dubois is ready to mix the album that was recorded in Brussels in October. By chance their favorite Dutch studio (Studio 150) still had a few days left at the end of the year. Before Dubois mixed the first cd Ruff over there and recorded the second one (Soul Integration). It will be great to be back and we’re looking forward to work with Joeri Saal again, the guy responsible for giving Dubois that fresh boost in the mix!

Jet Studio

Today Dubois enters the oldest surviving sound studio in Belgium: the Jet. This vintage recording space (a.k.a. the “Abbey Road“ from Belgium) was first put up by record company Decca in 1942 and has become famous for its great acoustics and warm atmosphere. Over the years it attracted many world class artists, including Edith Piaff, Shirley Bassey even the Rolling Stones, doing their recording sessions there. More recently artists such as Zita Swoon, Racoon, Das Pop, Hooverphonic and Marike Jager have visited the Jet studio. Now it’s up to Monsieur Dubois !

Our track “The Soul Integration” got selected for the “Aangenaam Jazz…” compilation, an annual cd release meant to promote Jazz to the (Dutch) public. Since this week Radio 6, Hollands nicest radio station, supports Monsieur Dubois by promoting the pre-sale of their upcoming record. Every few weeks one of us will be in the radioshow “The Beat” to give the latest updates on the making of the record. Monsieur Dubois celebrates 5 years Stellwerk

It’s been 5 years already since Jazzclub im Stellwerk, one of Hamburgs finest live jazz joints, first opened its door. Monsieur Dubois has been there from the start and came back many times over the years. And there’s more than enough to celebrate: Surviving as a jazzclub is never easy. To even grow and become a steady meeting place over the years deserves all respect and applause. To celebrate Stellwerks anniversary properly, Monsieur Dubois will be around all weekend and treat Hamburg on some “Great Shit” as they put it. Last but not least joining in on Saturday, Germany’s heaviest Secret Soul&Funk Weapon: DJ Soul Rabbi.
